The Senior College meeting on September 6th saw the attendance of around 70 seniors from the local Korean community, concluding in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Initially, two more meetings were scheduled for October 4th and 18th, but it has now been decided that the program’s final session will take place on October 11th.
The Senior Academy has become an invaluable resource for Anchorage’s Korean senior community, offering a monthly gathering for socializing, sharing uplifting messages, and enjoying meals together. It has also provided a platform for community members to connect with the seniors, fostering intergenerational relationships and creating a sense of unity.
By engaging in various activities—ranging from karaoke and light physical exercises to quizzes designed to stimulate the mind and fun games with prizes—the academy helps seniors stay mentally and socially active. The program not only promotes well-being but also strengthens the bonds within the Korean community, making it a cherished and enriching experience for all who participate.
